by theelvee_w2oe3m

Funk Brewing Company, who we profiled in July, has officially opened their taproom.  Located at 19 S 6th St, the new brewery is open for yours and takeout from 4pm to 9pm on Fridays, 12pm to 5pm on Saturdays, and 12pm to 5pm on Sundays.  Tours are $6 and include a tasting of 6 beers and if you need a growler the glass is $10.  The current line-up of beers available at the brewery is:

Efflorescence – Hibiscus Saison – 4.8% ABV – $10 growler fill
Table – Session IPA – 4.2% ABV – $10 growler fill
Redolent – Rye Pale Ale – 5.2% ABV – $10 growler fill
Brood – Farmhouse IPA – 6.2% ABV – $12 growler fill
Citrus – American IPA – 7.0% ABV – $12 growler fill
Falliage – Chai Saison – 5.7% ABV – $12 growler fill
Savage – Sour Saison – 5.7% ABV – $20 growler fill

Falliage, a seasonal beer, is a new one from Funk.  The beer coombines Vienna and Caramel malts, noble hops, and spices to make for a new take on the fall beer.  Not you typical pumpkin-spiced autumn brew, Falliage uses ginger, cinnamon, and allspice to give the brew spiced Chai notes.  Fermented with a farmhouse yeast, Funk says they “seek to expan your perception of everything you thought a fall beer could be” and say when drinking it to “think ‘pecan pie while drinking a Saison Dupont.'”  Grab it at Funk or look for it at bars around the Lehigh Valley soon.
