Spring Valley Tavern Reopens

by theelvee_w2oe3m

Ye Olde Spring Valley Tavern, formerly known as the Spring Valley Inn, is once again open.  The restaurant last operated in 2008.  Over three and a half years ago, the current group of owners began looking at the property and began a lengthy, two year process of closing on the property.  After that, renovations started in January 2013 and were plagued by delays until the restaurant’s soft opening last Friday night.

The restaurant’s decor has both changed and remained the same.  The outside of the restaurant is accented with a fresh red paint job, while the bar looks much the same as it did years ago, although a flat screen as been added.  The dining room has been redone, but retains a rustic charm to match the building.  The restaurant’s menu, for now at least, is limited to typical sandwiches, pizza, and bar food.  In a previous interview, one of the owners said many of the former menu staples of the restaurant will be returning.

The restaurant is located at 1355 Station Ave in Upper Saucon Township and is open from 11am to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11am to 1am Friday and Saturday.

We had a fantastic lunch last Sunday at the Spring Valley Tavern. The crab cakes were superb and potato skins were delicious. We are looking forward to going for dinner next Thursday evening. The restaurant has a nice charming feel and beautiful scenery.

Just to confirm, there actually *is* both a Tavern menu (sandwiches, pizza, etc.) and a full Dinner menu.

The bartender on Friday, August 8th 2014 should be fired immediately, he’s an idiot costing the owners a lot of money by his stupid behavior. I over heard him saying he works somewhere else 6 days a week, what as a dishwasher?

My wife and I spent many hours at Spring Valley in the Rex and Mary Green days. Happy to see it reopened and spruced up. We had a very good dinner outside recently. Both our seafood entrees were cooked to perfection. Just a few suggestions: Folks, you can’t be in business these days without a website. Get one up ASAP. Diners want to look at the menu and learn about a restaurant before they go. Play some soothing music in the pavilion for better dining ambiance, and tell the guy with the water jug to stop coming by every 15 minutes. We’ll be back to check out the bar menu soon.

Great to see this place open again. Sat at the bar – had a good meal and great drinks. We’ll definitely be back.

Disappointing. We have eaten there twice and were disappointed both times. They really need a new chef so it is odd to see someone else loved the food. Many of our friends have eaten there too and no one was impressed. The foor is only ok and definitely overpriced. Last time I was there my turkey club was made with almost no bacon, turkey lunchmeat (for the price it should be REAL turkey) and slightly burned toast. Prior to that my veges were undercooked and the baked potato tasted old. My huband’s fries were good.
