Plaza Bistro in Bethlehem Closes

by theelvee_w2oe3m

Plaza Bistro, a lunch spot at 1 W Broad Street in Bethlehem, has closed its doors.  The restaurant opened last February following the closing of Rock n’ Joe, a cafe franchise that features a rock n’ roll theme.  This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise as the location is not very good.  Pushed back from the street with minimal signage doesn’t bode well for any business.  A sign was posted indicating that a “cultural cafeteria” would be taking its place with take-out options available, but the sign has since been taken down.  The property manager for One Bethlehem Plaza said in a phone call that there are currently no potential businesses set for the former Plaza Bistro space.

What makes you think the Bistro is closed for good? Did it ever occur to you that maybe we are closed for
a slight remodel? You should get your facts straight before going public. When I first opened last year
you also made the mistake of letting people believe we were opening earlier than I had planned which
caused quite a few problems for me. Get your facts straight before you print. Also the sign that you wrote
about not being on the door anymore fell down and I didn’t get a chance to replace it.

Sincerely,

Considering that you have absolutely no information posted on your Facebook page about closing, your website is disabled, all of the signage is removed from the windows of the business, the phone number listed for your business is disconnected, and the building manager said they’re looking for tennants, we had plenty of reason to believe that Plaza Bistro was shut down for good. When you first opened last year one of your purveyors had claimed that you were opening on Feb 2nd. The people who made your signs then came on the site to point out that you were opening a week later due to weather delaying your deliveries (so at the time of publishing for the original article that was indeed the case). Perhaps if you provided information yourself through your own social media and websites, as well as alerting your building manager that you’re not leaving, the correct information would have been easier to find. After visiting your shut down website and calling your disconnected phone number we had to resort to third party information.
