Recapping the Allentown Fair 2011

The Allentown Fair is the signal that summer is ending and the fall is near.  A stop at the Tavern on Liberty, some deep fried food, and a walk through the henhouse will make your reminisce about the 110 degree days that faded all too quickly.  There were some top notch acts this year, including Bruno Mars.  Nothing particularly jumped out to my musical palate so I held off on attending any of them.  The food was just as aorta-clogging as ever.  I only opted for a gyro on my one day at the fair, and I’m sure my cholesterol level is thanking me.  And with that, we provide a photographic round-up of the Allentown Fair, 2011 edition.

Love the old fashioned red birch and root beer.

Not sure what a whiz dried french fry is, and not sure we want to know.

Tiger

Yeah, that's the stuff right there.

Fried Green Tomato Sandwiches? Was definitely interesting, but already filled with beer and food.

Slurp

Enormous pumpkin. It had to be on roids.

Porcupine cake

Coolest one. Nice autumn theme

Great re-cap! Thanks for all the photos as well. Not like me at all, but I would have to get one of those fried green tomato sandwiches… and just because those fries are “whiz dried”, a must… whatever that means. And if it all goes bust, there’s those two twin towers of lamb and beer…
