Pig Pen Sports Bar Shuttered

by theelvee_w2oe3m December 4, 2012
December 4, 2012

We learned yesterday from multiple sources that Pig Pen Sports Bar in Allentown, which opened in early 2009, has shut down suddenly amid cash flow concerns.

The sports bar was home to a bowling alley, an arcade, and two music stages in addition to the bar.  The closure may have been compounded by the fact that in May this year the venue was fined $3,000 for serving a visibly intoxicated person, then again in June for passing bad checks, and once more in August for $3,000 for serving a minor, which resulted in a liquor license suspension.  It was also home to some of the most bat-shit crazy events in recent memory, like Jersey Shore troll Snooki signing autographs and bowling there.

And thus we say: good riddance.  There’s a ton of better sports bars out there with a fraction of the many assholes that frequented this place.

My family and friends sure are going to miss “all you can eat” wing sundays. That was one place where you could get a really super hot wing specially made, if you had the balls. The service was fantastic on Sunday afternoons, but the place was empty. Mind you I would never set foot in there at night, this was one of my neighborhood bars, and most of my neighbors are the reason I leave East Allentown when I want to go out and enjoy myself without wearing a bullit proof vest. Sorry to see the Morgans go when they sold it as the Boulevard bowling lanes. What a waste of space.
