The Gantry – performing at Plaza Tropical at 2:30pm
This NYC rock crew has elements of the Gaslight Anthem with punk roots. They’re one of our favorite acts we’ve come across in the Musikfest line-up so far, and they’re early in the day so make sure to get down and see them.
Gracie and Rachel – performing at Lyrikplatz (inside the Artsquest Center theatre) at 6pm
Utilizing haunting vocals backed by piano, violin, and thunderous pop beats, there are only two performers but their sound is huge.
Caleb Hawley – performing at Americaplatz at 7pm
This upbeat singer has Motown sound and a hell of a lot of soul. Performing in one of the top slots at the Levitt Pavilion will have this show packed and make for a dancing-good time.
Sympathy and the Lion – performing at Lyrikplatz (inside the Artsquest Center theatre) at 7pm
This Lancaster cello and guitar duo delivers powerful lyrics with warm, gorgeous emotion. Their folky, Americana-driven songs are stellar and worth a listen.
Jubilee Riots – performing at Volksplatz at 7:30pm
This rootsy rock band has pop sensibility that makes songs like their single “Trying Times” accessible to a wide listening audience. We’re interested to see them play live because their music songs sound like they could make for an intense show.
Caravan of Thieves – performing at Liederplatz at 9pm
A repeat act, this guys are always a fun show. We’re glad Musikfest is giving them bigger venues (their first shows were in the theatres on the SouthSide). They’re a kind of laid back show, perfect for grabbing a beer, having a seat, and munching down on some food.
Hank & Cupcakes – performing at the TD Community Stage at 11pm
This electro-pop duo sound like a feel-good time with some catchy beats and high energy that should have the crowd at this late night show partying into the wee hours of Musikfest.
