Carly Rae Jepsen, singer of that song that’s been stuck in your head all summer, will be headlining the opening night of Musikfest on August 2nd, 2013. If you don’t know what song that is (Call Me Maybe), you’ve either been stuck somewhere with no radio or you’re deaf because the entire country has been earfucked by it all summer. Seriously, it’s so absurdly catchy it’ll take you at least 5 mugs of beer and 2 hours in the polka tent to get it out of your head after this show. In all seriousness though, this is a solid snag for Musikfest that will draw in a lot of different age groups and is, and likely will stay, a very relevant and top pop act in the years to come.
The song has sold more than 10 million singles, hit #1 on the charts across the world, and spawned approximately 100 billion parody videos on YouTube. She was also featured on musician Adam Young of Owl City’s hit single “Good Time” earlier this year.
Tickets are $29 and $39 and go on sale December 21st at 10am.
