Restaurant Updates for August 23rd, 2011

Just a few updates on new stuff coming to the area:

Word has it the Windsor Hotel on Route 309 in Center Valley has opened back up.  We first reported on the former Center Valley Tavern spot reopening a few weeks ago.

Rojos Bar and Grill will be replacing the former Bass’ Steakhouse and Island Bar at 1401 S Front Street in Allentown.  It doesn’t look like much has been done to the interior and it also appears that the former owners will still be involved in the new project.

Molinari’s will be replacing the former Steel Mill Grill & Bar which was open for mere weeks before shutting down.  Prior to that it was the Lucky Duck Cafe, a 24 hour diner-style restaurant.  No word yet on what the concept will be but the whole place was gutted from what it previously was.  Hopefully this place sticks around a while.

Cafe Erica opens in Hellertown today, part of a restaurant planned for the future.  The cafe will feature coffee, espresso, and other drinks.  Next door the same team will be opening Bella’s Ristorante, a restaurant serving upscale Italian cuisine.  Hellertown is slowly gaining nicer places to eat after a few year stretch of eateries and bakeries closing in town.  A few notable ones in the past few years include Dolce Patisserie, Warm Sugar, and Sagra Bistro.  Infusion Cafe and Karen’s Sweets were both failed endeavors. Patch has more details on Bella’s.
