A slew of new shows were announced for a number of Lehigh Valley venues over the weekend.  Acts include comedians, national rock acts, and a new Allentown Fair headliner.

Rory Albanese and Al Madrigal, known for their work on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, will be performing stand-up at the Musikfest Café on April 20th.  Albanese is the executive producer for the Daily Show and in recent years has been touring the country with his stand-up act.  Tickets are $29 for cabaret seats and $34 for balcony seats.

Emily Bergl, a classically trained actress best known for her roles in Carrie 2, Southland, and Desperate Housewives, will be performing in the Fowler Blast Furnace Room on April 25th.  Her act will feature an…interesting menagerie of cabaret skits that touch on everything from Roy Orbison to Madonna.  Tickets are $15.

Both shows go on sale to the public this Friday, March 16th, at 10a.m.

The Sands Bethlehem Events Center announced three new acts:

Glenn Frey, founder of The Eagles, will be at the event center on May 18th.  Frey’s solo catalog is riddled with mid-level Billboard charting singles, culminating with The Heat Is On and You Belong to the City.  Both soundtrack hits reached #2 overall.  Frey’s last album, a compilation record, was released in 2000.  Tickets range from $59.50 to $99.50 and go on sale this Friday, March 16th.

The Last Summer on Earth tour, featuring the Barenaked Ladies, Blues Traveler, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, and Cracker, will be stopping in at the center on August 17th.    The Barenaked Ladies gained prominence in the late 90’s for their #1 hit It’s All Been Done.  Blues Traveler first broke out in 1995 with the release of their singles Run-Around and Hook.  Their last album, North Hollywood Shootout, was released in 2008.  Tickets range from $60 to $80 and go on sale this Friday, March 16th.

Kathy Griffin, comedienne, writer, and TV star, will be bringing her comedy to the center on August 25th.  Known for her stand-up various stints across multiple TV shows (including her own, My Life on the D-List), Griffin has made a name for herself by incorporating current news and celebrity gossip in her routines.  Tickets for the show range from $49.50 to $79.50 and are currently on sale.

Pop rockers Set It Off will be playing Croc Rock in Allentown on April 19th.  The band recently wrapped up recording their debut full-length album and plan to release it some time this summer.  North Carolina rock band Divided By Friday will be opening.  Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, and are on sale now.

Alt rock band Eve 6 will be hitting the stage at Croc on May 18th.  The band, who broke up in  2004 following three albums (one going platinum, another going gold), reformed in 2007.  Their first full-length since their break-up is set to be released in April.  Tickets are $16 in advance and $18 at the door.

The Band Perry was announced as the third headliner at this year’s Allentown Fair.  The band of siblings are still riding high on their debut album which garnered everything from Grammy nods to a 4x platinum single and a platinum album.  The band is the second country act to be announced for the fair, following the recent announcement that Blake Shelton will be headlining as well.
