March 8, 2012

Artsquest just sent some new acts over our way.  Nothing particularly interesting to us, but figured we’d pass it along regardless.

The Dave Roper Trio, including Lehigh Valley pianist Dave Roper, will perform on April 12th.  Roper has been known throughout the valley for many years for his work which incorporates jazz and classical styles.  Tickets are $15 and the show will take place in the Fowler Blast Furnace Room.

Steve Kimock, a guitarist, will be at the Musikfest Café with his band on May 9th.  Typically mixing fun and psychedelic rock, they can get an experimental and jam-band sound to their music.  Tickets are $25 for cabaret seats and $30 for balcony seats.

Soul singer Joan Osborne, nominated for numerous Grammy awards, will be hitting the stage on August 17th.  She will release a new album, Bring It Home, on March 27th.  Tickets are $32 for cabaret seats and $42 for balcony seats.

Ramin Karimloo, a an actor who has appeared in theatre productions of Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera will be playing bluegrass and guitar renditions of songs from Les Mis, Phantom, and Love Never Dies during his show, as well as songs from his debut album, Ramin.  Tickets are $30 for cabaret seats and $35 for balcony seats.

Tickets for all shows go on sale to the public on March 16th.

Anyone hear about a new German Beer Hall being opened in conjunction with new convention center / entertainment space at Sands in May? I know they have the new “high-end” bar in the works, but I heard there is also a heated beer hall coming as well?
