JP MacGrady’s closes in Bethlehem

by theelvee_w2oe3m

We heard from two people (LVWL and another source) within minutes from each other today that JP MacGrady’s, a popular South Bethlehem bar, shut down today.  We’ve confirmed with another source that is indeed the case, and that the majority owner in the business, listed in state records as Robert K Cameron, changed the locks on the building.  Previously general manager Chris La Croix was also identified in the media as an owner in the business.  We’ll let you know if we find out anything additional regarding the future of the business as we hear it.

Went over to Hometown Heros tonight, god the service and beer selection there sucks. I miss McGrady’s already… Mint and Strange Brew are now tops in my local book.

Yeah and it turns into a douchey nightclub and drafts are too expensive. I’ll stick to Strange Brew or Molly’s…no popped collars and better beer at better prices.

How sad. It’s one of my all time favorite bars. They had 40 beers on tap before it was the cool thing to do. The owner who was always at the bar was really nice and really improved the place over the last few years. I hope it opens back up I miss the wings burgers and great beer menu

Any word as to why the bar was closed?
I’ve gone there for years and for the better part of my experiences was happy.
It’s a service industry in a college town so there wasn’t a super high expectation of service.
Management always resolved any issues.
Would love to see the doors reopen.

No word other than it was probably some sort of dispute between the owners. I can’t believe it’s still sitting empty.
