Funk Brewing Prepping Two New Beers

by theelvee_w2oe3m March 10, 2014
March 10, 2014

In their spring selling sheet, Funk Brewing, the new brewery in Emmaus, has divulged two new brews they will be releasing.

The first, Savage, is a 5.7% ABV sour saison that is fermented using wild yeast and their house yeast strain used in their Efflorescence saison.  The second is Crimson, which is a dry saison brewed using spelt, local honey, and aged on sour cherries.  It comes in at a sessionable 5.2%.  Look for them on draft around the valley and Philadelphia in the next few months.

Funk launched recently during Lehigh Valley Beer Week with three other flagships, their Efflorescence saison, their Redolent india rye ale, and their Citrus IPA brewed with grapefruit and blood orange.

Talk out on the street is that Funk Savage,ABV sour saison is the best money can buy. I predict that Funk brewing Co. will grow so quickly within the first year due to their brewer putting out first class craft beer they will need a bigger place.

So where are Funk beers on draft in the Valley now? I saw them at Trapp Door during beer week but are they actually selling on a regular basis anywhere?

So far they’ve been at Trapp, Liberty St, and Keystone Pub. They’re also going to be bottling so they’ll have their stuff at Abe’s, Wegmans, etc.
