New Beers and Festival Announcement from Brew Works

The Brew Works announced the date for the 2012 Cask Beer Festival at their Allentown brewery.  It will take place from 3-6pm on March 31st.  We covered this event last year and it was a great time.  The line-up for this year looks even more impressive and it’s still pretty early.  According to their site Allentown Brew Works will have 14 casks alone (!), as well as other casks from two of their other brewers.  Local breweries Yards, Flying Fish, and Weyerbacher will be bringing casks as well.  Oskar Blues out of Colorado will be tapping their first ever cask on the East Coast at this festival.  Chris Bowen, whose beers we’ve waxed poetic about previously, will be there pouring casks under his Hammersmith Ales moniker.

Bethlehem Brew Works has been stepping up their cask game as of late.  In addition to their charity cask nights they do they’ve also had casks on regularly throughout the weeks.  We fully, fully support this awesomeness.  As far as Weyerbacher goes, hopefully they pull out someting awesome, such as the mango-infused Double Simcoe IPA they did for Philly Beer Week back in 2011.

In new beer news, Brew Works on the Green is currently serving up a 6% Belgian Blond.  Bethlehem Brew Works tapped an Imperial Wit, a doubled-up version of their house Steelgaarden Wit.  At their Allentown location they’re pouring a Belgian Dubbel.
