Chili and Beer All Weekend

by theelvee_w2oe3m April 19, 2012
April 19, 2012

This weekend is pretty packed full of awesome events so there’s absolutely no reason you should be sitting around doing nothing.  There’s chili cookoffs and drinking to attend to.

We posted before about Spring on Fourth in Bethlehem and time is running out to get your passports if you’re planning on going.  No joke, these sell out every year so unless you don’t want to end up chili-less and disappointed it would be a good idea to grab yours now.  This booze-fueled afternoon includes free performances throughout the SouthSide area as well.  We’ll be judging this one again so look for a full recap next week.

If you’re looking to skip the chili and just hit the sauce, well Easton is right up your alley for Saturday shenanigans.  The annual Easton Pub Crawl starts at 2pm and goes until 8pm.  $20 in advance or $25 at the door gets you a pub crawl shirt, drink and food specials at participating bars, trolley service (badass), and an afterparty at Drinky’s (with food included).  Not a bad deal at all.  Plus, if you hit all nine participating pubs you’ll be entered to win some gift certs.  Participating locations are Drinky’s, Black & Blue, Porter’s Pub, Slainte, Two Rivers, State Café, the Lafayette Bar (ha), Colonial Pizza, and Pearly Baker’s.  Porter’s is doing a Sly Fox event where you can win a brewery tour of Sly Fox complete with lunch and drinks.  Black & Blue will be doing a Chimay promo where upon ordering a Chimay, you’ll get a glass to take home as well.

The West End Gastro Club is holding their chili cookoff on Sunday from noon to 5pm.  It’s taking place at the West End Youth Center in Allentown and costs $8 for adults, $5 for youths, and free for children under 8.  What’s a great way to spend the day after eating and drinking chili all day in Bethlehem?  Eat and drink chili all day in Allentown.  We’ll be judging this one as well so look for a recap next week after the stomach pains settle.

The Wooden Match in Bethlehem is hosting their own gluttonous event on Sunday.  For $15 you can do all you can eat OR all you can smoke, or do an all you can eat AND all you can smoke combo for $20.  It runs from 11am to 2pm.
