    Black & Blue Hosting Spring Beer Dinner

    Black & Blue in Easton is hosting a spring beer dinner on Saturday, May 18th at 5pm with Nevulis Beverage.

    The dinner features five courses for $65 with beer pairings for each course.  Brian Miller of Nevulis Beverage will be hosting the dinner.  The menu is as follows:

    Amuse Bouche
    Tomato confit, artichoke, quail egg, crostini

    First Course
     
    Pan-roasted Bronzino, celeriac puree, spring pea with crispy prosciutto

    Second Course
    Spring mix, strawberry, edible flower, goat cheese, house made multi-grain crouton, balsamic reduction

    Third Course
    Rack of lamb, coarse mashed potato with blue cheese, cracked black pepper and chives, asparagus, demi-glace

    Fourth Course
     
    Lavender infused creme brûlée served with lemon hazlenut cookie

    A Tale of Historic Beer

    Bethlehem brewer Chris Bowen is finally ready to finish his Arctic journey, but needs your help. Arctic Alchemy, Bowen’s documentary about his brew-induced trek to uncover the history behind a beer, is in its final stages. Bowen is running a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to help finish up the film. We recently spent a day brewing with Chris and tasting historic beers while discussing the story behind his truly extraordinary experience.

    Mesa Now Open in Easton

    Yet another restaurant recently opened in downtown Easton, which has been undergoing quite the culinary renaissance recently. Mesa is owned by Chef Rafael Palomino, the same restaurateur behind Pacifico at the Promenade Shops and Tapas on Main in Bethlehem, among two other spots in Connecticut. It takes the place of the former Tex-Mex Trio restaurant.
