On a recent grey, dreary day we stopped into a nondescript (well, amost…there was a firkin sitting outside the door) garage in Allentown with Sublime playing on the sound system to check out the Lehigh Valley’s latest commercial brewery.

Hijinx Brewing Company, a new nanobrewery out of Whitehall, has received its federal and state approvals recently and began brewing their first batch.

Last weekend was the 2nd annual PBS Brewfest at the Coca Cola Park, and boy was it better than last year. Twenty eight breweries were spread across the concourse of the ballpark and served up 1,000+ attendees.

The Brew Works is hosting a new festival this July: the Fruit Fest.

Last night Two Rivers officially served their first brews up at Black & Blue, a blonde and a brown ale

The Sun Inn is hosting dinners at Starter’s Riverport for fundraising and a beer dinner at the Inn to benefit juvenile diabetes.

The West End Gastro Club held their first dinner at the West End Youth Center last Friday night. The event featured Hijinx Brewery, a soon-to-open nanobrewery in South Whitehall, and the Lehigh Valley Homebrewers, who paired beers with dishes concocted by Chef Tim Howells.

We brought you the news of the West End Gastro Club forming last month. They just announced their first pop-up dinner at the West End Youth Center on January 20th at 6:30pm.
