Stuffed to the Grills Food Truck Starts Kickstarter

by theelvee_w2oe3m October 30, 2014
October 30, 2014

Sisters Emily and Michelle Cannon are currently raising funds via Kickstarter to start “Stuffed to the Grills,” a sandwich  truck that will serve towns throughout the Lehigh Valley.  The duo hopes to raise $20,000 by November 9th (and they’re already over a fifth of the way there) and are offering a variety of incentives to sponsor their project including food vouchers, catered events, and more.

The truck will have sandwiches three ways: Plain, Pittsburgh, and Cannon’s style.  The plain, obviously, will come with nothing but the regular toppings.  Pittsburgh-style will have fries, coleslaw, and tomato on top and Cannon’s-style will have homemade chips as a topper.  In addition to sandwiches, the truck will have salads, soups, rotating specials, and sides, like housemade chips with dill dip, Irish nachos,  and desserts.

They hope to have the truck out for breakfast and lunch as well as setting up at farmer’s markets, sporting events, wineries, and breweries.  According to their Kickstarter they’ve already scoped out a few places in Allentown and have met with city officials to be on the up-and-up when it comes to regulations and licensing issues.  (Allentown has been very open to food trucks, and has even held forums to attract food vendors, unlike Bethlehem who have had their heads firmly up their asses when it comes to licensing food trucks and vendors.)  Another interesting note is that they’re interested in partnering with other food trucks in the area to create a sort of Lehigh Valley food truck alliance, probably somewhat similar to the Philly Mobile Food Association.

Check out the Kickstarter page for the project here and their Facebook page here.
