New Restaurants to Open in Whitehall, Coplay

by theelvee_w2oe3m March 11, 2011
March 11, 2011

It looks as though there’s a new steakhouse coming to the Lehigh Valley.  Reportedly, the owners of the Keystone Pub in Bethlehem bought out the old Lonestar Steakhouse spot on Grape Street in Whitehall.  The spot was vacated last year in September after Lonestar shut down locations across the U.S.  The Keystone Pub owners were quiet about their plans and wouldn’t reveal any details, but a few calls yielded information that they plan to do a steakhouse as well.  A stop by the property yielded no information as the inside looks untouched.

An old pizza spot, formerly Papa Ray’s, in Coplay is undergoing a transformation after being put up for sale.  The eatery is now turning into “Raadical Restaurant”, serving a slew of typical eatery bites.  Pizza, burgers, wings, etc. will all be on the menu as indicated by the sign outside.  Work looked to be progressing inside with lots of construction going on.

I’ve been really happy with how Keystone Pub has stepped up it’s beer game lately with all the craft drafts. It’s such a cool old building too. All they need is a chef to put together a real menu instead of the bar/short order stuff they’ve had forever. Hard to image that steakhouse building having the same kind of character; it’ll be interesting to see what they do with it.

If the Keystone is really going in that spot, that would be awesome. Nothing like it in Whitehall and I need a place to go that serves great craft beer like they do at their spot in Bethlehem. I hope it’s not a steakhouse, we got too many of those in Whitehall. I would be fine with me if they keep the simple pub food they have at their other location. Great cheesesteaks and burgers, and this goes without mentioning, but they have great wings.

Some of my favorite beers that I have tried there:
Founders Breakfast Stout (hope they can get the Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout)
Founders Double Trouble IPA
Alot of Victory beers and YARDS Philadelphia Pale Ale (my favorite)
so many more to mention. I feel they update almost weekly.

Any idea on when and if this is definately happening. I am sure the local township knows something.

The photos shows the orange LCB sign, that usually tells you who the owner is.

It’s definitely happening and it’s definitely the same owners. The real estate lawyer they used commented that it was going to be a steakhouse type place. Working on getting more info 🙂

Also, no idea on timeline. As I said nothing done inside yet so it’ll probably be months down the road.
