Keystone Pub Whitehall Opens

Last week the long-awaited sequal to the Keystone Pub in Bethlehem opened in Whitehall.

The new spot, which we reported last March, takes the place of the shuttered Lonestar Steakhouse on Grape Street.  The new pub features a bevy of TVs touting varying ESPN channels and a tap list that is currently 43 beers long (about half were craft offerings).  The food menu is currently the same as their other location.  Be warned: the crowds were aplenty and the servers were still getting used to the rush and the new system over the weekend.  If you’re visiting soon, be patient.

RE: NTN Trivia…not sure.

RE: the tap list: Yeah, there is a ton of macro crap on there. Right now most of the craft stuff is PA: Troegs, Victory, Stoudt’s, etc. Word has it in the future their list will be more craft-heavy and diverse.

43 taps sounds nice, but when you have 2 Labatt, Moosehead, Molson, Shocktop, Landshark, etc. on the hard-to-read taplist in your photo, it’s a lot less impressive.

Looks like alot of people are wrong. As usually, someone said this place was going to be another steak house. Thank god it’s not. They have 51 taps exactly from what I counted and none of them were doubled up like someone said before. This is what I got from the craft side of things, I sorta stole a beer menu from when i was there last. Bells, dogfish, founders, frankenmuth, heavy seas, 2 different long trails, 2 different magic hats, prism, stone, 2 different stoudts, 2 different troegs, two different victory’s, 2 different weyerbacher, and yards, and a new one i never heard of angry orchard.

That’s about 22 i think. Not to mention the amount of imports I saw, ST. Bernardus (yummy). Ya they do have some Miller and coors and bud stuff..but who cares. They make up with plenty of draft lines that are different.

The place is unique i give it that.

It looks like they are still going through some growing pains, seems that food is taking a little bit longer than usuall. But i am sure they will work it out.

I was speaking to the one manager, looks like the owners do like to keep the local and regional beers in the area going. Along with a very simple wine selection. Its just Amore Winery in Bethlehem.
Good for them to keep it local. I commend them on trying to keep it local.

Oh and the bar with that big giant tap machine concoction in the middle of the bar looks great. They put some time and money into this place. Now i see why it took so long to get that place open….cant even tell it was a lone star. I like it…my new hang out.

This pub gets a -1 out of 10 stars. Keystone Pub serves terrible food and overpriced beers. The owner also charges for celery and blue cheese. The seating is super-uncomfortable. It seems as if the owner bought his seats from a thrift shop.

Also instead of getting a side with your meal, this food shack gives you the worlds smallest bag of chips. If you want fries, they’ll charge you another $1. Holy penny pinching !!!

If you’re smart you’ll take your hard earned money elsewhere.
