Farmers Come to the Zoo

The Lehigh Valley Zoo is partnering with Buy Fresh Buy Local to host Farm Fest this Sautrday, April 14th.  The event will have farmers and purveyors from around the area selling their goods and feature live music and activities for children.  Kids activities include farm-friendly mascots, story time, a tractor display, penguin feeding, an alpaca walk, and an otter encounter. 

The list of confirmed farmers/purveyors thus far:
Apple Ridge Farm’s – bread, seasonal produce, and eggs;
Bechdolt Orchards – apples, apple cider, fruit butters, apple sauce, tomato sauce, and ketchup;
Eagle Point Farm Markets – herbs and bedding plants;
Fairman Farms – garlic hot pepper jelly, berry jams and jellies, asparagus, and lettuce;
Josie Porter Farms – seasonal produce, garlic vinegar;
Quartz Hill Farms – herb, lavender, foliage, and edible flower plants, herbal products, culinary herbs, and sachets;
Suyundalla Farms – lettuce, fruit butter, and wool products;
Valley View Farms – pastured beef, chicken, pork, goat, and eggs;
Y Knot Alpacas – wool items: felted soaps, yarn, rugs, socks, and purses;
as well as soaps, fizzies, bath salts, lip balms, lotion bars, and more.
