The Allentown Art Museum (31 N 5th Street) opened up a new cafe on Tuesday as part of its extensive $15.4 million expansion and renovations.  According to a press release, valley caterer Karen Hunter will be heading up the operation.  According to her website, Hunter is a preferred caterer at venues across the valley including Allentown’s Symphony Hall and the Sayre Mansion in Bethlehem.  The menu includes typical deli fare croissants ($1.95-$2.50), bagels (1.95), fruit, granola & yogurt, salads ($2.25-$7.50), roast beef and roast turkey sandwiches ($8.95), and desserts.  According to Allentown Art Museum CEO Brooks Joyner, the cafe shouldn’t be thought of just a place to eat when visiting the museum, but a place for anyone downtown to drop by and grab a bite to eat.  The Museum Cafe is open 11a-3p Tues-Fri, 11:30a to 3p Saturdays, and 12:30-3p on Sundays.
