Little did we know Tanczo’s beer distributor in Bethlehem was holding what’s billed as their 2nd annual Taste Fest this past weekend until a friend tipped us off. What a great event…free beer, door prizes, and food. It wasn’t advertised very well and was probably better off that way. They were pouring about 40 different beers. They had wraps, cheese, cold cuts, water, and birch beer to munch on while getting your drink on. For door prizes they had a Moosehead bicycle, a Budweiser table/chair patio set, some coolers, a big portable Sam Adams beer fridge (bummed about not winning this), and various other brewery swag. It was a solid time, especially for free.
Some of the beers involved were: Appalachian Brewing Company, Trail Blaze Organic Brown, Water Gap Wheat, Purist Pale, Mountain Lager, Jolly Scot Scottish Ale, and Hoppy Trails IPA. Slyfox was there with Route 113 IPA, Oktoberfest, Phoenix Pale, Pikeland Pils, Lager, and their Royal Weisse. Flying Fish had their Octoberfish, Beglian Abbey Dubbel, Hopfish IPA, Extra Pale Ale, and ESB. Others were Heavy Seas’ Loose Canon IPA and Peg Leg Stout, Moosehead, Harpoon IPA, Unibroue Chambly Noire, Ommegang Rare Vos, Harpoon Raspberry UFO, Kostringer, Leinenkugle Oktoberfest, Woodchuck Fall, Becks, Saranac Pumpkin Ale, Shock Top Pumpkin Ale, Shock Top, Sam Adams Octoberfest, Sam Adams Irish Red, Brew Works Devious, Brew Works Hopsolutely, and a few others I forgot to write down. All-in-all a very cool event and props to Tanczo’s for holding it and introducing more people to good craft beer.
