    Bethlehem’s Twisted Olive Now Open

    by theelvee_w2oe3m August 6, 2013

The Twisted Olive, which took over the former Starfish Brasserie spot on Broad Street in Bethlehem, is now open.

The restaurant is owned and operated by chef Steve Kershner, whose previous experience includes a long stint at Apollo Grill just down the street as well as the Hotel Bethlehem, the Spring Valley Inn, and the now shuttered Belmont Inn.

The interior of the restaurant was completely redone, with the bar being enlarged, the booths in the bar area being converted to high table tops, and the dining area refurbished.  The menu includes appetizers (arancini, short rib ravioli, and more), soups (including a soup sampler – nice), salads, pizzas, and entrees (with items like braised lamb shank, skirt steak, seared salmon, ahi tuna, etc).  Chef Kershner also utilizes fresh ingredients from his home garden in his dishes at the restaurant.

The bar side of the house has a selection of four mostly local craft beers, a range of macrobrews and even more micros in bottles, a nicely varied wine list (with 19 red, white, and roses), and one damn good-looking cocktail list.

The Twisted Olive is open from Tuesday through Saturday 11am to 10pm and is located at 51 W Broad Street.

    Review: Starfish Brasserie

    by theelvee_w2oe3m December 2, 2009January 19, 2011
    December 2, 2009January 19, 2011

The Starfish Brasserie is smack dab in downtown Bethlehem and is just one of the fine restaurants that can be found in the area. Starfish, as well as Edge and Apollo Grille are what I have always considered to be the triangle of upscale dining in Bethlehem, yet for some reason I never made the trip. After seeing on Starfish’s Twitter that they were doing a special $45, 3 course meal with wine pairings for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness, I decided it would be the perfect time to visit.
