Blondie’s, a Catasauqua-based restaurant and bakery primarily dealing in cupcakes that come in a dizzying array of flavors, is opening up a second shop at the Allentown Farmer’s Market on November 15th. Blondie’s, which opened in 2010, was featured on Season 5 of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. In addition to their signature cupcakes and gluten-free varieties, Blondie’s will serve ethnic Slovak food including halupkis, pierogi casserole, halushki, and fresh bread. The new shop is taking over the former spot of Amy’s Sweets and Treats.
Amy’s, another gourmet cupcake & dessert bakery, is moving down the street to open a new store at 1727 W Liberty Street. Amy’s closed down their Allentown Farmer’s Market location on October 26th and have delayed the opening of their new location to an unspecified date.
