“Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro restaurant to replace St James Gate at Sands Casino

The Sands Casino said today that its St James Gate restaurant will be closing on November 30th.  The announcement comes over a year after the Sands Casino president, Mark Juliano, announced several changes coming down the pipeline to the casino’s restaurant landscape.  At the time he said that Emeril’s Italian Table is expected to shut down as well, and will be replaced by something similar to Emeril’s New Orleans.

Taking the place of St James Gate will be Buddy V’s, an Italian restaurant concept by Buddy Valastro of “Cake Boss” fame.  Opening in spring of next year, the Sands president said in a statement that “we are committed to providing a variety of exciting dining experiences for our guests…with the addition of Buddy V’s, we are proud to add another successful, award-winning restaurant to our offerings.”  The Sands also operates a Buddy V’s at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.

Menu items include ‘family favorites’ from Valastro like steak pizzaiola, linguini with clams and lobster, and several other recipes that he says were passed down from his mother, grandmother, and aunts.

it was very nice inside. The waitress was extremely friendly. I ordered a beef tenderloin @ $40. I ordered it to be med rare and it came out well done, it was suppose to be over a bed of spinach and it came over a bed of mushrooms. The waitress and manager were very sorry for the mixup and did offer me another meal but my girlfriends and I were waiting to go dancing so to wait another 1/2 hour wasn’t ideal. I assumed (and that is my first mistake) they would have removed it from our bill but all we got was a credit for our drinks. I would have expected that if my meal was not properly executed and I did bring it to there attention that it would be removed. I was disappointed. They also screwed up my girlfriends pasta dish
